Sophia Pauline is a dancer, singer, and actor from Mount Kisco, NY, who graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Musical Theatre from The Ohio State University. She has performed internationally, including tours in Denmark and Berlin where she presented works in the Cunningham and Horton techniques by choreographer Daniel Roberts.Sophia’s versatility spans concert dance, theatre, and precision performance. She has trained extensively in ballet (Vaganova), Horton, Cunningham, jazz, contemporary, tap, and African dance. Her Broadway-focused training includes studying Fosse with James Kinney and precision dance with her mentor, Anna Elliot, a former Rockette. She has also trained under Rory Freeman, a former dancer with Shaping Sound, further expanding her contemporary artistry.Performance highlights include featured roles in Merce Cunningham’s MinEvent, Eddie Taketa’s What is Hip?, Forest Hershey’s Fosse, and her own choreographed solo in Ohio State’s BFA Senior Showcase. In musical theatre, she has appeared Off-Broadway in A Christmas Carol and Stone Soup with the Players Theatre. In addition to her concert and theatre work, Sophia has an extensive background in competition dance, where she has earned numerous first-place awards and multiple national titles, showcasing her precision, artistry, and technical excellence.Beyond performance, Sophia is a dedicated educator who brings her professional training, competition experience, and stage knowledge directly into the studio.
