Marisa is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Throughout her time in college, she trained extensively in concert dance, studying techniques such as Cunningham and Horton. She also spent a summer training in Los Angeles, where she worked under renowned choreographers Jackie Sleight and Christian Vincent. She began her professional career as an NFL cheerleader for the Cincinnati Bengals, performing on the field at Paycor Stadium. She continued her professional training in New York City at Broadway Dance Center as a member of their Professional Program. Marisa has worked with and trained under renowned artists including Olivia Cipolla, Maleek Washington, and Neil Schwartz, and has also studied with both the Rockettes and The Joffrey Ballet School.
Having grown up as a competitive dancer, she brings a wealth of experience to her work as an educator, teaching dancers of all ages. She began teaching in Gambrills, Maryland while still in high school at her local studio, instructing in Jazz, Lyrical, Conditioning, and Contemporary. During her college years, she continued teaching dancers of all ages and choreographing for high school programs. Following her time as an NFL cheerleader, she has taught numerous Pom dance master classes, introducing students to a new style that emphasizes precision, sharpness, and clean lines. With a strong competitive dance background, Marisa is passionate about inspiring dancers to grow both technically and artistically.
